Grupology teaches writing using a process-based approach. From brainstorming to outlining, proofreading to revising, students will learn the steps and skills every strong writer needs. Using graphic organizers, writing exercises and personalized feedback, Grupology meets students where they are and nurtures their growth into confident writers.

Class Descriptions:

Grupology writing classes are deliberately designed as a progression. We are thoughtful about building the skills and strategies necessary to become a strong writer.

  • Creative Writing

    3th–5th Grade

    Build and foster passion for writing while strengthening academic skills through creative writing. Students will practice composing complete and grammatically correct sentences through journaling, letter writing, literary devices, and crafting short stories.

  • Perfect Paragraphs

    4th–5th Grade

    Learn how to write a perfect paragraph. Students will practice the steps and skills to craft a topic sentence, supporting evidence and a concluding sentence.

  • Intro to Essays

    4th–6th Grade

    Take your strong sentences and perfect paragraphs and turn them into a whole essay! From brainstorming and outlining to revisions and edits, students will become comfortable with the essay writing process.

  • Essays Plus

    5th–7th Grade

    Students will continue to build confidence and fluency in the essay writing process at a more advanced pace. Additional curricula will help refine their ability to draft, revise, edit, and integrate their unique voice.

  • Academic Essays

    6th–8th Grade

    Learn to write a five-paragraph literary analysis essay. After reading novels and short stories, students will be able to make a claim and support it with direct evidence from the text.

  • Dynamic Reading & Writing

    6th–8th Grade

    Read a variety of challenging texts that include classic and contemporary literary fiction, satire, memoir, editorial, poetry, and more. After an in-depth discussion, craft a thoughtful and technically proficient essay.

FAQ:

  • Registration links for the 26/27 Fall semester will be live on the website May 1st. Spaces are limited and subject to availability.

    For students who do not have the prerequisite, please request assessment. Grupology will ask for writing sample(s) and provide your child with a brief writing prompt to confirm class placement. Students are placed in the class best suited to develop their writing skills. Final placement decisions are at the discretion of Grupology.

  • Total tuition of $1,280 for the 26/27 Fall semester is paid on 8/1/26.

    • A non-refundable $100 deposit will be applied toward your tuition to secure your enrollment.

    • Prorated tuition refund for cancellations up to the third class.

    • 50% prorated tuition refund for cancellations after the third class.

  • Please refer to the academic calendar for class dates including holidays.

    Should students miss a class, class outlines and assignments will be sent. Make-up requests to attend another group class for the same lesson are subject to availability.

  • Each lesson is reinforced with weekly homework. Homework consists of revising, editing, and completion of classwork.

    Students who want additional writing instruction and support may also explore our tutoring offerings.

  • Our educators will provide a progress update. Parents may contact the educator for feedback or discussion. Real-time feedback can be found by reviewing your child’s working document.

  • Please partner with Grupology to ensure your child is ready to learn. Students should respectfully engage with their peers, be attentive during instruction, complete their work on time, keep materials organized and communicate with our educators.

  • Transfer to another class mid-semester is subject to availability and an administrative fee of $25 per transfer.

  • We are called “Grupology” because we believe in the power of learning in a group.

    All individuals, students and staff are expected to treat everyone with respect.

    Verbal harassment, violent language or intimidating behavior will not be tolerated.

    Should a student be dismissed for disciplinary reasons, refunds will be provided according to the cancellation policy. Grupology retains the right to dismiss students at our discretion.
