A Year in Review: Grupology Turns 2!

What a whirlwind year! Grupology has accomplished so much in 2021, and we’re overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from our incredible community. As we gear up for 2022 and all the exciting things it holds, we wanted to look back at our beginnings, reflect on the growth we’ve experienced in the last year, and thank you for helping us get to this point. This is only the beginning!

Grupology was born on Thanksgiving Day 2019. Our dream was (and still is) to instill a love of learning, foster community, and inspire social impact. Who would’ve ever guessed that four months later, the world would shut down? We faced our first real-world test. Like any great story, our journey has had twists, turns, and even cliffhangers. No one ever doubted our passion, but did we have perseverance? Did we have grit? Could our growth mindset overcome the unexpected? These are the character traits we aim to develop in our students and strive to model, showing them that, yes indeed, we practice what we preach. The Grupology story is just beginning, and we are as eager as ever to embrace this adventure as it continues to unfold!

Reflecting on these past two years, we are proud to have stayed true to our mission. Our brick-and-mortar headquarters launched quietly at the height of the pandemic. While we had to settle for a soft opening instead of a grand opening, HQ opened its doors to small pods of in-person learners while we also extended our online presence and grew our virtual community. We have succeeded in designing a creative and intellectual home for all our learners, whether face-to-face or virtual. And throwing modesty to the wind, we are now a neighborhood favorite for the makers, thinkers, and doers on Nextdoor – a great reason to celebrate as we close out 2021!

And Hello, 2022! Our professional team is growing and our class offerings are flourishing. We take pride in our subject matter experts from different walks of life, blending education with real-world application. The strength and uniqueness of our core programs, electives, and clubs are being noticed, and we can’t wait to showcase what our learners are accomplishing! As a sneak preview, enjoy the following concrete poem, entitled “Mirror,” written by Vivienne Kolatkar, a talented 5th grader from our Poetry & Perspective class.

We look forward to working with our budding mathletes, authors, poets, grandmasters, agents, performers, kidpreneurs, and non-profit leaders. You can see some of them featured here in our newest video.

‘Tis the season to believe – so thank you for supporting and partnering with us. We are immensely grateful to our talented community of students, families, friends, educators, staff, and advisors that helped make this happen. Wishing you the warmest Thanksgiving and holiday season!

With Love and Gratitude,

Rosy and The Grupology Team
